Limbo-land Has a Purpose
There comes a point in every season of growth where the path ahead stops making sense.
What once felt clear becomes murky.
Plans fall apart. Strategies lose their edge.
And suddenly you find yourself suspended between what was and what’s next.
This space — the one that can feel like limbo — is not a mistake.
It’s a turning point.
And it’s exactly where Gate 2: The Gate of Direction begins to do its work.
Energy 2 lives in the Identity Center in Human Design — the place within you that holds love, direction, and the pull of your life’s path.
In the Gene Keys, this energy takes you on a beautiful journey:
The Shadow of Dislocation
The Gift of Orientation
The Siddhi of Unity
Dislocation often feels like drifting. Like you've lost the thread.
But what if that feeling of being "off track" is actually your inner compass recalibrating?
Correct Orientation ≠ Having a Plan
We often mistake clarity for having every step mapped out.
We think orientation means knowing exactly what to do next — or having a detailed plan.
But orientation isn’t a map, it’s a direction.
The map is mental.
Your mind tries to piece together every next turn based on external inputs —
what’s worked for others, what you think should happen, what feels safest.
But you are the compass.
And if you attune inward & ask good questions, the connected wisdom of your body knows which way to orient.
What Real Orientation Feels Like
Being oriented doesn’t mean you have all the answers.
It means you’re facing in the right direction.
You might not know the five steps ahead,
but you can feel the resonance of this moment.
And from that feeling, subtle as it may be, the next right step can begin to emerge.
And if fear is still present — it’s okay.
Fear is safe to be with.
It’s not a sign that something’s wrong.
It’s a sign that you’re alive, listening, and in motion.
4 Questions to Help You Orient
What do I feel pulled toward — even if it doesn’t make perfect sense yet?
→ Orientation is energetic, not logical.
What do I truly want — beneath the noise, pressure, and performance?
→ Your soul-level desire, rather than surface wants.
If I paused right now and did nothing for a moment… what quietly rises to the surface?
→ Orientation speaks in whispers. Stillness helps it surface. If I changed nothing, what am I currently moving toward?
→ Today’s energy, action and attention are moving you here.
This Week’s Flow Field Notes
Sometimes flow looks like deep presence.
Other times, it looks like batching pancake batter like a boss.
🧑🍳 Light Prep = Morning Flow
My love has been in Taiwan for 2 weeks, which means I’ve been solo parenting my two “spirited” boys (I still laugh every time I say that — it’s the most diplomatic way to say f&#$ing bananas).
One of the small but mighty things that’s kept us together during the weekday morning sprint?
Protein pancakes.
Specifically: batching the batter on Sunday so I can feel like a supermom Mon.through Fri.
Here’s the scoop:
We use King Arthur’s gluten-free pancake mix (a staple around here), and I mix the full bag with 10 scoops of collagen protein (yep, 10!).
Fresh blueberries go in if I have them.
That one big batch fuels the week — warm breakfasts, full bellies, success.
💫 Tiny Practice, Big Shift
Solo parenting has brought a bit more chaos than calm lately.
So we started something new — a family pattern interrupt.
Whenever someone’s upset, fighting, or just on edge (me included), anyone can call out:
“Beep, beep, beep — time to restart!”
We all drop what we’re doing, sit on the floor, hold hands, take a deep breath,
and say together:
“One, two, three… reset.”
It’s simple.
It’s silly.
And it works.
A moment to begin again — together.
Try it.
